NAMI Family to Family Class - Charlotte

Upcoming NAMI Family-To-Family Class: Register Today!
Are you struggling to care for someone with a mental health condition and feel no one understands that you are alone in your burden and are overwhelmed?
NAMI-Charlotte is offering a FREE Family-to-Family Education Class for family members, partners and significant others of persons dealing with mental health conditions.  These include major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other disorders.
Family-to-Family is a series of 12 classes which meet weekly. The classes are structured to help caregivers support individuals with serious mental health conditions while maintaining their own well being. Participants will learn to better understand mental illness, communicate with doctors, learn about resources, set boundaries, practice self care, identify the problem and get a diagnosis, comprehend psychotropic drugs, set reasonable goals, have a vision for recovery, and learn how to advocate against mental illness stigma.
You will network with others facing the same issues. The class is taught by a team of trained NAMI volunteers who know what it's like to have a loved one struggling with a brain disorder.
Class Begins: Wednesday, September 13
Class Ends: Wednesday, December 6
Time: 6:15 pm - 9:00 pm
